FAQ

How far in advance do I have to order my cake?

I design, bake and decorate all my cakes by myself. This means I only take on one wedding cake per week. All wedding cakes require planning therefore I would prefer as much notice as possible. I may be able to accommodate a cake at shorter notice so please don't be afraid to ask!

Do you offer cake consultations and can we sample different flavours?

Yes! It's a great opportunity to come and see where your cake will be made. We can discuss the design of your wedding cake and you have the ability to ask lots of questions. Importantly, you get to taste a wide variety of cake flavours from my menu. My cake consultation costs £45.

I'm unable to attend the consultation. Can you send me a tasting box through the post?

Yes! I have dates through the year in which I send out tasting boxes. This is a fantastic opportunity to taste my cakes in the comfort of your own home. We can then arrange to meet for a consultation nearer your wedding date.

How do I secure my booking?

All my wedding cakes require a £100 booking fee to secure your booking. No booking is confirmed until a booking fee has been received. This booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable should you cancel your booking for any reason.

When is the final balance due?

The final balance must be paid 4 weeks before the delivery of your wedding cake.

How do I pay for my wedding cake?

You can pay for your cake online by bank transfer. I will provide the banking details.

Do you deliver and set up the wedding cake?

Yes! I deliver and set up your wedding cake so you won't have to worry about that. You can just enjoy your day!

What happens if I have to cancel?

The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of cancellation. Cancellations with less than 28 days notice are subject to full payment. For more information: see Terms & Conditions.

Do you hire out cake stands?

I have a small selection of cake stands which can be hired. A £50 hire fee plus a £50 - £100 security deposit (depends on the stand) is required in advance. It is the customers responsibility to return the stand to me within one week. The security deposit will not be refunded in the event of the stand getting damaged.

Do you cater for allergies?

Unfortunately not. All my cakes are made in a kitchen that handles nut and nut products. I do offer one of your tiers gluten-free on request.

Do you make naked, semi-naked or buttercream-covered cakes?

No. I only specialise in fondant-covered cakes.

Can we have a different flavour in each tier?

Yes! You can choose different flavours to suit all preferences. These flavours are listed on my Menu.

If I pay my deposit up-front, is the consultation fee included?

Yes.
